Site Description: My Hager Family Website includes a GEDCOM file with over 200,000 related individuals. I continue to make changes as folks provide information, which validates a different family connection. It includes mostly the Hager, Cook, Bias, Perry, Toney, Adkins, Browning, Stewart, Clay, Belcher, Miller, Turner's of Amherst County, VA, and Mangus surnames, but it has many other related surnames such as Walker, Buchanan, Workman, Barker, Epling, Spurlock, Lovejoy, Stollings, Elkins, Vance, Cooper, Yeager, Vannatter, Harless, Canterbury, Furgeson, Crabtree, Brown, Bailey, Toler, Hatfield, McCoy, Fowler, Lowe, Childers, Copley, Marcum, Hill, Dingess, Farley, Thompson, Hinchman, Ellis, Dempsey, Pridemore, Ballard, Ellis, Ferrell, Pauley and many others from the Southwestern part of what used to be Virginia and now is Southern West Virginia. The primary counties are Boone, Lincoln, Cabell, Logan, Wyoming, Raleigh, Mercer, Wayne, Putnam, Mingo, Monroe, Fayette and Kanawha Counties of West Virginia as well as Giles, Tazewell and Amherst County, Virginia. Parts of Tazewell County, Virginia formed Giles County, VA (1806); Logan County, WV (1824); Mercer County, WV (1837); McDowell County, WV (1858).
I have run into dead ends with William Walker (1797-1883) m. Nancy Browning; Isabel Sharkey (1785-1869) m. Joseph Perry; Nancy Crabtree (1795-1860s) m. Alexander Buchanan (1797-?); Joshua Ferguson (1774-1825) m. Rebecca Toney; Sarah Ann Turner (1826-1893) d/o Samuel Turner of Amherst County, Virginia, m. Rolen S. 'Snuggy' Bias s/o Lindsey 'Nealy' Bias; Jacob Harley (1700-?) m. Mary Adkins who is reportedly of Royal desent and I resently had someone send me a message that said he could not have been the Earl of Oxford; and of course Phillip Hager. Sr. (1735-1807) of Tazewell County, Virginia.
